Information

  • Individual and collaboration group goals due by May 14
  • During our 8th grade team meeting Mr. Kowalski will share information about technology goals
  • Start thinking about a goal for us for 8th grade. We'll use most of the time to decide our goal during the team meeting. Some things we've talked about all year: TA curriculum, using the Accomodation tab in IC, Working Lunch, and missing work/poor grades, among others.
  • We are short on help for holding the AIMSweb testing as we did the first time this year. It looks as though we'll need to test as we did in the winter.
  • May 11 we need staff to go to Lab 410 for about 10 minutes either before school or during their morning prep to take the Self Assessment Survey for PBIS.
  • We've started a pilot Executive Skills group through the SAP group format. More information will be shared at meetings.

  • TA curriculum. We talk a lot at meetings about what students need, the TA curriculum helps us to hit on some of the social/emotional concerns we all have for our middle schoolers.

Information

  • Please let me know before next Thursday, April 22 if you feel a student should not attend summer school. I need a letter documenting reasons why so I can bring it to BRT.
  • Strep throat is going around, please take care of yourself! Wash, rinse, repeat!
  • To learn, humans require regular and frequent feedback on thier actions. Without formal feedback to encourage desired behavior, other forms of feedback shape undesired behavior (took that from the training last week!)

Information

  • WKCE scores are posted on April 7th, we can access and share information then through DPI
  • When we return from Easter Break we will decide who to recommend for summer school and who should take part in the Student Success Team for 4th quarter
  • Spring Aimsweb will take place May 5 (Starfish), May 6 (Eagle), and May 7 (Dolphin) in the auditorium like we did in the fall during TA and 7th period.

  • Please have students clear off tables at the end of the day so our custodians can wipe down table tops
  • Dana Sommerfeld is visiting with admin today to share WKCE information. Hopefully we can share this next week.
  • Many students are starting new point sheets/daily progress reports. We'll check progress after four weeks.
  • Tammy Slowiak will be visiting with us April 8 to talk about students. Let's talk during team meetings and fill out the forms Mrs. Rasmus attached to us.
  • Our technicians report we have a $700 dollar bill waiting to be paid from repaired keyboards and another monitor in the middle school that needs to be repaired for about $120. Please be sure to supervise use when using technology. Possibly assign equipment and then check on it at the end of every period.

Reminders
  • Please think of students who would benefit from the Student Succees Team for 4th quarter. I'll be asking for a list at next week's team meetings.

  • Be sure to contact parents when you send a student from class for disruption or assign a detention
